Future Nepal set up community children libraries to offer educational opportunities to children to some of the backward and poorest regions in Nepal. The children attend the libraries before and after school. Volunteers do not need teaching qualifications to partake in this program, just a passion for children and having fun! Children enjoy new experiences as much as us so anything you can bring from home to show them how your life works and culture differs is beneficial. Volunteers may also help establish new libraries in needy village. For this, both technical and financial support from the volunteers will be highly appreciated. If possible, the volunteers are kindly requested to bring English books, teaching materials, stationery items and sports materials.
Future Nepal has just established a new children library in rented house at Sunkhani village in Dhading. It is naturally beautiful hilly region village in Dhaading which is about 100km far away from capital Kathmandu. You can experience wonderful views of Ganesh Himalaya and many more unnamed Himalayan peaks as well as beautiful waterfalls, landscape, flora, fauna etc. It is a very backward and poor community. The ethnic of the village are gurung, magar, tamang, newar, braman.
Government school provide just basic tools like blackboard, textbook, pencil and paper. The purpose of this library is to provide a beneficial learning resource for community children. So we need wide variety of books and educational materials.
We welcome to volunteer to help this library by assisting library, teaching to children, supporting children books and materials, donations etc.
